They Finally Made It!

Well, it was karaoke time again at the Best Western Mardi Gras Casino in fabulous Las Vegas!  Chris, the bartender who works this shift, has been trying for MONTHS to get his lady friends to stop by and party with us.  After a few weeks of Chris promising me they would show up, I started to think this was purely his imagination. Finally, this past Saturday night, they finally showed up!

What a great bunch of ladies.  They sang a lot of songs, drank a lot of drinks, and had a shot or two.  Not only were the ladies enjoyable to have with myself and DJ Matte (vegasdeejay.com), but they were great tippers as well. Thanks for coming out ladies.

Of course, no night would be complete without plenty of tourists belting out a few tunes.  With the MAGIC convention in town this week, plenty of visitors took to the mic and had a really fun time. Thanks everyone for stopping by and partying with us!

Karaoke Time

Last Saturday night, I was the karaoke host at the Best Western, Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino. Located a few blocks south of the Las Vegas Convention Center, it's a fun place to have a gig. It's a small, but fun crowd.

When I first pulled up to get ready for my show, it was hard not to be alarmed by the 100 or so motorcycles parked around the place.  But after talking to a few of the riders, they were just a bunch of weekend warriors in Vegas for a few days to enjoy some summer fun.  Most were in their 40s and 50s and made this an annual vacation.

Once I setup my rig, the party was underway! People were eager to start singing and having a good time. A big fan of mine, Trish the Dish started the night.  A short, but busty blonde, she is always fun to have at any show. She loves to sing, is a great crowd motivator and is a great tipper! My good friend DJ Matte also showed up and sang some 2Live Crew.  Chris, the bartender, made sure that I never went thirsty. The bikers belted out some old school Motown and I sang some Commodores, Nickelback and Jimmy Buffet. Candy showed up later in the night and sang a few redneck songs - she's African American.

Amber, the 28 year old slot attendant/cocktail waitress/troubleshooter gave me a few bucks to play some of her favorite songs. She always tips, even though some of the gamblers don't always do the same for her when they win.

Not sure when I'll do another gig there again.  Might be a few weeks.  I'll keep you updated!
